About Us

Who we are

With no defined uniformed standard on how autonomous vehicles should handle crash collision avoidance as it stands, autonomous vehicles are a public hazard, legal obligation to manufacturers and a financial risk to everyone. We exist to help alleviate both of those concerns and create a uniform standard to which government officials and manufacturers can agree upon. We believe that we can strengthen manufacturers' ability to program smarter, safer, and more reliable autonomous vehicles, while also addressing concerns at the local, state, and federal levels on what constitutes a "safe vehicle".

Our vision is to create a system where autonomous vehicles are put through millions of crash tests before ever being put on the road. A system that strengthens manufacturers' practices while lowering the loss of life created by automobile accidents. Ultimately, creating a product that we at Autono would not be hesitant to put our own families in regardless of manufacturer or municipality laws.

Every bit of technology to create safer autonomous vehicles is already in existence. However, many of the moving parts and technology simply need to be put to work together. Our team has already built, engineered, or operated all pieces to create a safer more efficient way to crash test autonomous vehicles. With years of experience in software, hardware, and marketing we believe that we can safely design the next step in autonomous design.

We collect real crash data so you don't have to by using custom designed solutions to collect crash data from around the world.

Levels of Automation

SAE J3106

Level 0

No automation. The full-time performance by the human driver of all aspects of the dynamic driving task, even when enhanced by warning or intervention systems.

Level 1

Driver assistance. The driving mode-specific execution by a driver assistance system of either steering or acceleration/deceleration using information about the driving environment and with the expectation that the human driver perform all remaining aspects of the dynamic driving task.

Level 2

Partial automation. The driving mode-specific execution by one or more driver assistance systems of both steering and acceleration/deceleration using information about the driving environment and with the expectation that the human driver perform all remaining aspects of the dynamic driving task.

Level 3

Conditional automation. The driving mode-specific performance by an automated driving system of all aspects of the dynamic driving task with the expectation that the human driver will respond appropriately to a request to intervene.

Level 4

High automation. The driving mode-specific performance by an automated driving system of all aspects of the dynamic driving task, even if a human driver does not respond appropriately to a request to intervene.

Level 5

Full automation. The full-time performance by an automated driving system of all aspects of the dynamic driving task under all roadway and environmental conditions that can be managed by a human driver.

Features of this era include rearview video systems, rear cross traffic alert, lane centering assistance, advanced driver assistance features, pedestrian automatic emergency braking, automatic emergency breaking, and rear automatic emergency braking.
